Project Description

Hawthorne School Apartments was a historic rehabilitation of a two-and-one-half story school building designed by famed architect William Ittner. Built in 1931, the original building received additions in 1933, 1949, and 1955. The project included 35 loft-style apartment units within the school and an additional 12 two-story new construction townhome units located at the northwest corner of the site. The school rehabilitation also included a clubroom located within the original gymnasium, a fitness room, and a bike storage room.
